ITR Filing Questions

8 questions in this section
1
Who is required to file an ITR?
Any individual whose income exceeds the basic exemption limit, or who has capital gains, foreign assets, or wants to claim a tax refund must file an ITR. Even if TDS has been deducted, filing is required to claim refunds.
2
What is the last date to file ITR for FY 2024-25?
The standard deadline for individuals is 31st July 2025. Businesses requiring audit have until 31st October. We recommend filing early to avoid last-minute portal rush and errors.
3
What happens if I miss the ITR deadline?
You can file a belated return until 31st December. A late filing fee of ₹5,000 (₹1,000 if income below ₹5L) applies. Interest under Section 234A is also levied on the unpaid tax amount.
4
Can I file ITR without Form-16?
Yes! You can file using your salary slips, bank statements, and Form 26AS. Our CAs regularly handle cases where Form-16 is unavailable or incomplete.
5
How do I claim a tax refund?
Your refund is automatically claimed when you file the return and it shows excess TDS deducted. The refund is credited to your bank account within 15–45 days of processing by the IT department.
6
What is the difference between old and new tax regime?
The old regime allows deductions (80C, 80D, HRA, etc.) with higher slab rates. The new regime has lower rates but fewer deductions. Our CAs will calculate which regime saves you more tax before filing.
7
Can I switch tax regimes every year?
Salaried individuals can switch every year. Business owners/professionals can switch only once from new to old. Our team will advise you on the optimal choice for your situation.
8
What is a revised return and when can I file it?
A revised return corrects any mistakes in an already-filed return. You can file it anytime before 31st December of the assessment year or before assessment is completed, whichever is earlier.

1
Is GST registration mandatory for my business?
Mandatory if turnover exceeds ₹40L (goods) or ₹20L (services). E-commerce sellers, inter-state suppliers, and certain categories are required to register regardless of turnover.
2
What is the due date for GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B?
GSTR-1 is due on the 11th of the following month (monthly) or on the 13th of the month following the quarter. GSTR-3B is due on the 20th of the following month for most taxpayers.
3
What is Input Tax Credit (ITC) and how do I claim it?
ITC is the credit for GST paid on purchases used for business. It's claimed in GSTR-3B and must be reconciled with GSTR-2B. Our team ensures maximum ITC is claimed legally.
4
What happens if I file GST returns late?
Late filing attracts fees of ₹50/day (₹20/day for NIL returns) up to a maximum of ₹10,000, plus interest at 18% per annum on any unpaid tax liability.
